How to Enable or Disable Audio Descriptions on Disney+

How to Enable Audio Descriptions on Disney+ (Mobile)

Disney+ titles that feature audio description options in at least one language are denoted on the content’s home page next to the maturity rating. It is illustrated by the AD icon, as depicted in the image above.

To enable or disable audio descriptions on Disney+ through a mobile device, take these steps:

  1. Open the Disney+ app on your mobile device.
  2. Select the title you wish to watch and allow it to begin playing.
  3. Select the Audio and Subtitles menu icon in the top right corner of your screen.
  4. Select the audio setting of your choice.
  5. Exit the Audio and Subtitle Menu. Your selection will automatically begin playing.

To turn audio descriptions on or off when watching Disney+ on a smart TV, follow these steps:

  3. Use your remote to select the Audio and Subtitles menu in the playback window’s top right corner.

  5. Exit the Audio and Subtitles Menu. Your selection will automatically begin playing.

If you feel like you need them, you can also turn subtitles on and off on the Disney+ app through the Audio and Subtitles menu.

To turn audio descriptions on or off from your favorite web browser, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Disney+ website.
  2. Start playing the title you want to watch.
  3. Click the Audio and Subtitles menu icon in the top right corner of your screen.
  4. Select your desired audio setting. Audio Description settings are listed as the language, followed by [Audio Description].
  5. Exit the Audio and Subtitles menu, and the show or movie will resume playing automatically.
